30 Days of Keeping PDX Weird

It certainly is an interesting mix of people and business here in the Rose City. There's a saying here, Keep Portland Weird. I think I'll fit in fine.

I'm just discovering the (in)famous Pearl District in NW PDX. Some of the eclectic characters I've met on the Max, at bus stops, or in the cafes and winebars in this artsy district have included 30 year old billionaire brokers, entrepreneurs in the aviation propeller biz for in-flight refueling of unmanned aircraft, and Hawaiian beach bums here to take care of their ailing mother...never a dull conversation, except if I'm on the #72 when I play my iPod LOUD to drown out some inane conversation of the crazies and street people.

During the next 30 days, maybe I'll meet my intended - or at least a fellow Aussie or Kiwi to say G'day to. You reckon?

Ciao 4 now.
