Where to Next?

I never leave home without my camera and latest issue of my favorite magazine. You just never know what direction your soul will take you, and you'll want that camera to remind you!

This week, I'm on a personal Dee-Tour to a place I once spent many happy vacations, ski weekends, my honeymoon and first sabatical. I was able to GPS my way to 92 Alder St. near Jay and Upper Jay, NY to my former cherished cabin in the woods in the North Country.

Going back to AuSable Forks, pop. 1,733, for the first time in over 30 years, was nostalgic, of course. How everything has changed! Except the shuffleboard in the local pub and the bumpy, ungraded gravel road winding through AuSable Acres.

I still have some old B&W photos I took of the local landmarks and personally developed in a makeshit lab in the upstairs of the tiny A-frame. Simpler times, slower pace back then.

So why haven't I returned sooner?
Afraid I wouldn't leave, I suppose.

The Adirondacks are definitely a better place to be than the Big Apple. Think I'll be back again soon!
