Stars N Stripes

I decided to spend some time with my fellow American, Vicki, before departing Hobart, and her house is full of red, white & blue things from her recent trip back to US soil. Stars n Stripes are prolific in her and Robert's Old Beach home because she's the US VP of the Australian American Association. I have attended AAA events on and off during my 1600 days downunder, making most holidays a food and fun-filled event with fellow Yankees.

I make no bones that I don't want to return to the USA before political and economic conditions change, but am going to give it a look over, at least Oregon which, in my mind and memory, is much like Tassie. Few people, a live and let live attitude, lots of trees to hug and the national seashore just a few short hours from the Rose City of Portland.
I'm going to look at work/study/play options in Oregon and see if it's for me.

Besides the vineyards at 42 degrees north, I will endeavor to find and explore some intentional communities on the land in southern Oregon, which I think will be similar to the eco villages and elder communities I visited in NZ.

Deetouring downunder may be over, but I still have a lot of dee-tours left on my journey. Hello Oregon. Bye (for now) Australia!
